Influence Conference wrecked my heart.
The Influence Network is a community of creative, Jesus-loving women who want to make their online (and REAL Life) mean something. They are the most beautiful group of women who are filling their days with what matters most (family, jesus and using their gifts). I was blessed to the core to be surrounded by and to soak in the wisdom from these modern day Proverbs 31 ladies.
My favorite moments of the conference was getting up early to dig into the word with the ladies of SheReadsTruth. SheReadsTruth is an online community that encourages women to dig into God’s word daily. If you are looking for a way to be more accountable go check them out.
After staying up late chatting with my sweet roomie (and REAL LIFE friend) Amy, It was difficult to set the alarm clock for 7 a.m. These women blessed my heart so in the past year I just wanted to meet them and hear how HE is working in their lives. It was an absolute JOY to see their lovely faces, sip coffee and share a bit of this journey with them.
I was also able to meet my lovely new friend Lara Casey. Lara has been an absolute inspiration and encouragement to me in the last 6 months as I learn what it means to live this “out of the box life”. Her wisdom, authenticity and heart for God is evident as soon as you meet her. She breathes life into all around her. I could probably write an entire post about what I learned from Lara’s one hour workshop so I’ll share some highlights.
1. This Song from Shane & Shane had me in tears and absolutely wrecked my heart. I’m still thinking of the lyrics and dwelling on the truths.
2. Jesus never says Follow Your Dreams. He calls us to Follow Him. In the pinterest world filled with images encouraging us to Dream Big, Follow Your Heart, Do what Makes You Happy it is easy to forget that we were created to bring HIM glory.
3. When God puts something on your heart take ACTION. Do something TODAY that will move you closer to the plans HE has for you. Little by little change happens, abundant fruit and our dreams grow.
4. Stop glorifying busy. Be still and rest in Him. You don’t have to do more, be more, accomplish more. Quite striving..all you need is Jesus.
There is so much more goodness that I want to share with you. God is continuing to speak to my heart through what I learned this past weekend. For now I’ll leave you with this beautiful reminder that ALL YOU NEED IS JESUS.
