This past week I spent time working through my Power Sheets from Lara Casey. One of the exercises in the goal prep is to write down your big dreams. I could write down own a fabulous Victorian house by a lake, travel to exotic places or own my own business. But none of those truly set my heart on fire. All were good things but I had just read Proverbs 19:21 that morning
Many are the plans in a person’s heart, but it is the LORD’s purpose that prevails. Proverbs 19:21
I was reminded that my happiness and big dreams are not the reason I am here on this earth. I’m here to bring HIM the glory!
I long to live the abundant life that is talked about in John 10:10. It’s not about having a high-paying job, beautiful home and perfect husband and kids. To live the abundant life means replacing what we think is good for God’s BEST.
God planted seeds of hope in my heart of what a truly abundant life looks like. 2014 is Less of Me and More of Him.
2014 is a year of abundant life. 2014 is the year to get back to the simple things and what matters most. 2014 is a year of simplicity I’ll share more about my specific 2014 goals soon, however it all begins with the God-sized dreams he has placed in each of our hearts.
My God-sized Dreams:
To Serve God
I desire to use my gifts to serve Him. Through work, bible study, serving at church or a missions trip to be USED by God.
To Love Others
Love deeply and fully. Build community, enrich my relationships, spend time with family, and make relationships a priority.
To Share my Heart
Speak truth in love to all I encounter (online and in real life) To encourage others through conversations, my blog, hand written notes, and maybe one day a book.
To Live the Abundant Life
Be fully present and live life. More face to face time and less Facebook. Choose to be content in this season, fuel my body with real food, travel and expand my mind, learn new things, take a risk and fall in love with the glorious life.
What are some of the God-sized dreams He has placed on your heart?
